Custom Game Cases

Aug 27TH, 2019

As my collection started to grow I wanted to both protect and display my games. After some searching online I came across a ebay post showing universal game cases with custom art for retro games. I bought a few at $5 a peace which at first was happy with the quality but wanted to make my own and at a cheaper price too.

I got 100 universal game cases for $85, a ink jet printer plus photo paper and got to designing. I spent many hours learning to use Gimp, a free photo editing software and searching for high quality game pictures.

Was vary proud and happy with what I had made (Especially the Star Fox 64, Wave Race 64 and Smash Brothers) but it took a lot of time. One day I was watching more Youtube videos about custom game cases and found someone that talked about a site called The Cover Project. This site had a huge library of old original and custom game art for universal game cases and is adding new art almost daily.

I had a lot of fun customizing my game collection and knowing they would be protected but displayed nicely.
