When and Why I started Collecting

July 13TH, 2019

This all started when I was saving up money to go on a trip that was planed a year in advanced. But things didn’t go as planed and the trip wasn’t posable. I had all this money saved up and I still wanted to do something fun with it. So I started thinking on what could be fun and then I was remembering of all the Retro Gaming Channels I have been watching on Youtube.

That it! I wanted to start my own collection of retro games/consoles, plus I have a spare bedroom in which I could convert into a game room. I was sold on the idea and started looking around on the internet for anyone selling old games/console systems.

My first find: It was the start of summer 2019, I was on Facebook marketplace and found someone was selling a Nintendo 64 system with controllers plus games. This was perfect and exactly what I was looking for but she was asking for $120 which was more that I wanted to pay, so I offered $100 and she agreed. We met up at a parking lot in town and after inspecting the condition of the games I talked her down to $70 (Sold). Little did I know this was a good deal I have made and collecting was going to get harder and more expensive in the near future.
